The Jefferson County Environmental Services Department, under the direction of the Jefferson County Commission and the County Manager, has the responsibility to collect, transport and treat sanitary sewage in Jefferson County.
The department maintains over 3,220 miles of sewer lines, 178 pumping stations and nine water reclamation facilities throughout the region. Your sewer system serves an estimated population of 480,000 residents of the County with the potential to treat 199 million gallons of sewage per day.
The main divisions of Environmental Services include: administration, maintenance and construction, compliance laboratory and water reclamation facilities. Each division is responsible for a specific range of operations that work together to serve its customers, protect water quality and meet all regulatory obligations.
