Who is my water provider?
That is determined by where you live in the county; there are nine water providers serving sewer customers of Jefferson County. If you are a Birmingham Water Works or Bessemer Utilities water customer, you receive a combined water and sewer bill.
If not, you receive a separate sewer-only bill directly from Jefferson County. Your water provider is indicated on your utility bill and is identified by the first letter of your account number.
G - Graysville water I – Irondale water L- Leeds water
M - Mulga water R - Roupes Valley (Warrior River water) W – Trussville
How do I pay my bill online?
At this time, online payments can be made for current accounts only. You will need your account number and service property number to ensure proper recording to your account. To schedule monthly payments, set up a username and password and log in to the payment portal. Then proceed to look up your account and make a payment. A per transaction convenience fee will be charged by the payment processing company for this service.

It can take at least 24 hours for payments to post to your Jefferson County Sewer account.
Pay Sewer Bill by Phone
Jefferson County Environmental Services has launched a new payment option for sewer bills. You can now make payments over the phone using a credit card or e-check. Just make sure you have your 13 digit account number handy, then call 659-207-2128 to connect to the interacting voice response customer service portal and it will walk you through the process. If you have questions you can call 205-325-5390 for a customer service representative.
How to pay my sewer bill by mail?
You can pay by check or money order in the provided envelope through US mail.

If you are a Birmingham or Bessemer water customer, you can pay the water and sewer portion in one check to your water provider
** all other customers must pay Jefferson County directly for sewer service and provide separate payment to their water provider for water service.
